The ICC Championships 2025 will be started with first opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand at Karachi on 19th of February 2025. This ICC Champions Trophy will be the 9th editions or tournament of ICC Champions trophy format. Moreover, there will be 8 top ranked national teams of their own country that will play various matches of this tournament.
Further, the tournament of championship will be organized by ICC under the headship of PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board). In fact, PCB Pakistan will host the entire event according to ICC. Further, Pakistan is also the defending champions of this format of cricket as it has won the Champions Trophy title of 2017.
Delayed Champions Trophy Tournament
In the year 2016, the ICC cancelled all the future editions of Champions Trophy after completion of Champions Trophy 2017. Because ICC wanted to continue with only one format of cricket i.e. One Day International (ODI) 50 overs and T20 International format. However, in the year 2021, ICC again announced that the Champions Trophy format will be return in year 2025.
Construction of New Stadium for Champions Trophy 2025
In the year 2022, Chairman PCB Rameez Raja was allowed to construct a new cricket stadium for champions trophy 2025. The stadium was desired to be of international standard and was constructed in Islamabad. As Islamabad is one of the venues of Champions Trophy 2025.
Moreover, at the time of ICC International Cricket World Cup 2023, top officials of PCB met with the officials of ICC for the alternative options if India would not come to Pakistan for playing Champions Trophy due to political as well as security reasons.
Historically, it seems that there is always remain a tug of war between India and Pakistan during any international of regional game season.
Host of Champions Trophy 2025
Pakistan will individually host all the matches of Champions Trophy 2025. As during the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, ICC on 16th of November 2021 announced that Pakistan will host Champions Trophy 2025. In this way, this tournament of championship will be the 1st international tournament that will be host by Pakistan since the attack on Sri Lankan team in 2009. Similarly, the last tournament that took place in Pakistan was ICC Cricket World Cup 1996 that was also co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India along with Pakistan.
Qualified Teams for Champions Trophy 2025
There are total 8 teams that qualified for this format of tournament. Pakistan being a host of champions trophy is automatically selected for the tournament. Pakistan will join other 7 high ranked teams from ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 group stage. Further, this is the first time that previously champion Sri Lanka has not qualified for this format of cricket tournament. Additionally, Afghanistan has first time qualified for this tournament.

Venues of ICC Champions Trophy 2025
There are majorly three venues for playing of cricket matches of championship 2025. On 28th of April 2024 there were mainly three optimum venues that were reported as a venues for cricket matches of this tournament.
Venues for 2025 championship are Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi. Interesting all matches of India are scheduled in Lahore due to the security and political reasons.
