Pakistan is set to host the Champions Trophy, an eight-team, 50-over global event, for the first time since 1996, scheduled for February and March next year. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reported that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed the ICC of India’s decision not to participate in Pakistan.

“The PCB received an email from the ICC, stating that the BCCI has communicated their team will not travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy,” a PCB spokesperson said. “The PCB has forwarded the email to Pakistan’s government for guidance.”

The tournament of championship is set to begin in 100 days, on February 19, though the ICC has yet to confirm a schedule. The curent draft or schedule of Champions Trophy 2025 is stil approved by ICC. While the ICC has not issued a direct response to the PCB’s statement, discussions are underway with Pakistan and the other seven participating nations. The BCCI’s formal response is still awaited.
