PCB is responsible for organizing, managing, and promoting the sport nationwide as well as preparing the cricket team for international tournaments. This cricket institute was established in 1962 under Pakistan’s Sports Development and Control Ordinance.

There are many sources of income of PCB, such as advertising rights, ticket income etc. This reinvestment supports everything from grassroots initiatives to the national teams.

The recent structural changes have introduced a three-tier system for domestic cricket,. In this proces of cricket there will be a cricket team that will be strong in any aspects. This is aiming to improve quality and competition by consolidating talent within six regional teams. So, these teams are have been emerged from various areas of Pakistan now participate in key tournaments like the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan Cup, and National T20 Cup.

Pakistan Cricket Board is a comprehensive body. It manages its affairs in different ways and with the help of cricket board. Moreover, PCB’s governance structure includes a chairman, board of governors, and various committees to manage administrative and operational aspects.
Additionally, the PCB oversees Pakistan’s National Cricket Academy, which trains players, coaches, and support staff, ensuring standards and skill development across all levels. The entire structure of PCB is almost located in Lahore with various international level cricket stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Rawalpindi.
